The permits can only be used for the operational running of your business, such as goods deliveries, and not for staff to attend the workplace.
You will not be eligible if your business has off-street parking available.
Business permits are digital so you will not need to display anything in your vehicle.
Car park permits
Your business may be eligible for permits in certain car parks. Only businesses in the surrounding streets may be eligible.
The permits can only be used in the dedicated business permit bays.
The car parks included in the scheme are:
- Gray Street, Canton
- Harvey Street, Canton
- Leckwith Road, Canton
- Severn Road, Canton
- Wellington Street, Canton
Car park permit costs
The permits cost £40 for 6 months or £80 for 12 months.
On-street permits
Your business may be eligible for on-street parking permits.
The permits are only available in certain parking zones around the city. Parking locations depend on which zone your business is in.
There are 2 types of on-street permits:
- Vehicle specific permits
- Non vehicle specific permits
Non vehicle specific permits are transferable and can be used for different vehicles. You will need to change the vehicle details in MiPermit as required.
The cost of the permit will depend on your vehicle’s emissions.
Zone C1, C2, C3, C4
You can park in any available Limited Waiting or Pay and Stay bays in the zone.
You cannot park in Resident Permit bays.
Vehicle specific permits
There are standard charges for your first and second vehicle permit. You may also need to pay an additional charge depending on your vehicle’s emissions.
The first vehicle specific permit will cost £20 for 6 months or £40 for 12 months.
The second vehicle specific permit will cost £50 for 6 months and £100 for 12 months.

Non vehicle specific permits
The first non vehicle specific permit will cost £60 for 6 months or £120 for 12 months.
The second non vehicle specific permit will cost £90 for 6 months and £180 for 12 months.
Applying for your permit
You can buy permits for 6 or 12 months.
