Highways and Waste Quality Policy

The Recycling & Neighbourhood Services and Highways Maintenance Operations of Cardiff Council are firmly committed to the delivery of high quality, cost effective & efficient services that meet the needs and the expectations of our customers & communities, and our key stakeholders (interested parties).

We are committed to providing services in accordance with relevant National Highway Sector Schemes, our Waste Strategy, all relevant standards, environmental considerations and respective legislation, including current Welsh Government guidance and arrangements for managing buildings, equipment, staff, visitors & the public during the COVID 19 pandemic.

We will consult with local people and organisations to identify concerns through a risk based approach, in line with legislation and available resources. Together with our partners, we aim to continuously improve the quality, extent and nature of services provided.

We recognise that every employee makes a key contribution to the overall delivery of Council services, whether they are delivered internally or externally. We encourage their participation in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of activities to improve council services and their individual employee development.​

We will publish this policy to our document site, the Council Website and display in prominent positions throughout the workplace where appropriate.  All managers will be responsible for raising awareness of the policy and reinforcing a culture of excellence with our people.

The Quality Policy will be reviewed annually through our management review system to ensure its continued relevance to our operational objectives and wider Council strategic priorities.

Our Recycling & Neighbourhood Services and Highway Maintenance teams operate a Quality Management System which complies with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 of which the registered scope can be made available upon request.
