Switch Together (formerly Solar Together) is a group buying scheme that lets Cardiff households get solar panels and battery storage at a competitive price.
Hundreds of households across Cardiff have already benefitted from the scheme.
We have partnered with iChoosr Ltd, who are independent group buying experts. iChoosr Ltd will help you through the process and keep you informed at every stage.
Our role is limited to promotion only. Once you have registered for the scheme, you will deal directly with iChoosr Ltd. If you accept the offer, you will contract with its approved installers.
Planning permission
You do not need planning permission for most types of solar panel installation.
If you live in a conservation area or listed building, you may need permission. Please contact the Conservation Team for more information.
If you already have solar panels
If you already have solar panels, you can register to add battery storage to these. This will make sure you get the most out of your system.

How to register
Registration for the scheme closed on 5 June 2026. You can register for any future rounds of the scheme on the Switch Together website.
