If you find a dead animal on any road or pavement that is maintained by the council, please let us know about it.
We will collect dead animals and make sure they are handled with respect and sensitivity. If possible, we will check for identification. Cats and dogs are taken to Cardiff Dogs Home, where staff scan them for microchips to try and identify and contact the owner. We recognise the emotional difficulty this causes pet owners.
If no microchip is found, we follow established procedures for disposing of dead animals.
