Cardiff Council aims to establish an Independent Cardiff Music Board to support, sustain and grow Cardiff's music ecosystem.
The Sound Diplomacy Cardiff Music Strategy Research and Report (PDF, 5 MB) made a series of recommendations for the remit and composition of the Board, and Cardiff Council proposes to establish the board based on those recommendations and a draft terms of reference. The purpose of the board is to champion Cardiff's music scene locally, nationally and internationally, protect and promote music at grassroots and all levels, providing a platform for increased communication and collaboration across the sector.
The Cardiff music board will enable experts from various sectors to work together towards shared goals to benefit and develop the music ecology and business in Cardiff, supporting the aspiration of Cardiff being celebrated as a music city.
