Cardiff Council has set out plans to expand the number of places available in special schools and specialist resource bases (SRBs) in the city. This aims to make sure that every learner's needs are met in our schools.
The aim is to:
- provide equitable access to education and specialist support,
- reduce reliance on costly independent placements, and
- ensure learners can access support close to home.
This expansion means we need an increase in specialist teachers and teaching assistants.
