Tree Preservation Orders (TPO) apply to specific trees and woodlands in Cardiff to help protect them.
It is illegal to cut down, prune, destroy or damage trees covered by a TPO, unless permission has been given by the council.

The Welsh Government has created a document offering
advice on Tree Preservation Orders.
If the tree or woodland you want to work on is in a Conservation Area then you also need to apply for consent using the sameapplication for tree works subject to a TPO (179kb PDF).
