Click and Collect library services

Library users can order a selection of books to collect from one of the four core hubs that have remained open throughout the lockdown period.

You can pre-order titles either via Cardiff Libraries online catalogueExternal link opens in a new window External link opens in a new window or by calling a library phone line where you will be offered a selection of five books based on your interests and preferred genres.

The library phone line is 029 2087 1071. Please select option 2.

Staff on the library line will arrange an allocated time slot when you can collect the books from one of the four hubs:

  • Central Library Hub,
  • Ely and Caerau Hub,
  • St Mellons Hub, and
  • The Powerhouse, Llandedeyrn.

Loans will be for the usual three week period. You will need to return the books to the same hub they were collected from, by appointment.

Cardiff residents can also become new members of the library service or reset their PIN.

If you are unable to visit hubs as you are shielding or self isolating, we can deliver books to homes in Cardiff. Staff will call or email you to advise on delivery slots available.

Quarantining and cleaning measures for returned books will be in place before they are reused to reduce the chances of spreading COVID-19.

Customers ordering books online will only be able to order books that are currently available in their chosen collection hubs as no stock is being transferred between hubs at this time.

Customers who borrowed books before the lockdown period, with due dates during that time, do not currently need to return these books as the service is automatically renewing these loans.
