Alternative transport

If you don’t qualify for free school transport, there are lots of other options available.

We run Countryride School Bus Services to some schools. Pupils pay a single fare as they get on the bus or they can buy return and multi-journey tickets directly from the driver.

A 12-journey ticket costs £9. There is no need to book a place on these buses. The bus will stop at any of the recognised bus stops along the route if requested.

It is sometimes possible to buy a seat on a contracted school bus service if there are spare seats available on the bus route you need. The cost of this is £100 per term.

Cardiff is well served by a large network of bus services. The majority of local bus services in Cardiff are operated by Cardiff Bus Link opens in a new window
