Nursery school admissions

​Children are entitled to a part-time nursery place from the start of the term after they have turned 3.  

They will stay in nursery school until the September after their fourth birthday when they start reception class in primary school

If you submitted an online application you will receive your Nursery place offer via Email. You will receive information that is relevant to your specific application. ​
 
Any application that has been refused will receive the information via post, rather than by Email.​

You should provide us with your child’s details so that we can provide you with information on the application process at the appropriate time.​

You must give us your child’s full name, address, and date of birth.

Your preferred school

​We recommend that you visit schools before you complete your application. Each school has its own prospectus and staff are happy to show parents around if you make an appointment. View list of schools.

 

Please note that Roman Catholic schools and some Church in Wales schools have separate admission arrangements to other LA schools. Please contact the school directly for more information.

  • when the application process starts, 

  • the deadline for applying, and​
  • when you will be notified of the result of your application.​

Closing date for receipt of online applications.

Any application received after this date will be considered late and will not be considered in the first round. Schools may already be full by the later rounds.​
Monday 27th April 2020
Notification of result of applications.
Online applicants will receive an email.

If you have missed the deadline for applying for a nursery school place you will need to complete a Late Nursery Form at one of the Council’s Hubs (after 24/2/20).
