Following a public consultation in Autumn 2013, the Council's Cabinet has authorised officers to publish a statutory notice of the proposal to establish a new 2 Form Entry English-medium community primary school with a nursery as a new build facility combined with the existing community centre in Pontprennau, from September 2015.

If, following the publication of the statutory notice, the Council implements the proposal it will be necessary to revise school catchment areas. We are therefore consulting upon establishing a catchment area for the proposed new school in Pontprennau, and on an associated revision of neighbouring English-medium primary school catchment areas.

The changes are being proposed to achieve a balance between the catchment area of the proposed new school, and the revised Bryn Celyn Primary School and Glyncoed Primary School catchment areas.

A copy of the catchment area map is available here, detailing the proposed changes that the Council intends to implement from September 2015.

If you wish to see a copy of an individual school catchment area map, please contact the School Organisation Planning Team on 029 2087 2917.
