Red striped bags and black wheelie bins (General waste)

Red striped bags or black wheelie bins are collected once every two weeks, on alternate weeks to the  garden waste collection. They are for all your waste which cannot be recycled or composted.

Waste teams will only collect waste that is presented correctly:

  • If you have a black bin, all your waste must be inside the closed bin or recycled appropriately. Black bin lids must be closed
  • We will not collect red striped bags left out in bin areas.
  • Black bags will not be collected from the kerbside.  Presenting black bags may result in fixed penalty notice.
  • Bags or wheelie bins must be put out on the kerbside before 6am on the day of collection, or no earlier than 4:30pm the day before.
  • Collections run throughout the day from 6am till 10pm.

If you use a lot of nappies or incontinence pads and need an extra collection, you can arrange a hygiene collection
