Transport Projects

The Council has a Local Transport Plan (LTP) which has been approved by the Welsh Government.  The LTP identifies the key transport issues relevant to Cardiff, the improvements which are required to address these issues and a prioritised five-year programme of schemes which outlines the infrastructure schemes to be delivered within each financial year.

The proposed programme outlined in the LTP includes walking and cycling infrastructure, bus network and junction improvements, 20mph limits and road safety schemes.

Transport Projects have investigated Road Safety issues throughout Cardiff by carrying out a series of Area Studies.  The investigations have taken into account new issues raised by Councillors and members of the Public, along with existing issues and areas of concern.

During the project delivery all transport improvement schemes are subject to a public consultation exercise, where we explain the reasons behind a scheme and give you the opportunity to comment on the proposals.  The current consultations can be found using the link below.
