The Council proposes to undertake highway improvement works to support the development of Fairwater Campus including the temporary replacement school buildings which were granted planning approval on 4th November 2022 (planning application reference 22/01719/MJR).
The proposed highway improvement works will include provision of school safety measures on Fairwater Road, St Fagans Road, Doyle Avenue and Llangattock Street, with traffic calming, footway improvements, zebra crossing and parallel zebra crossing facilities located near the new school building. Footway improvements are proposed at Milton Place, Norbury Road and St Fagans Close. This scheme will improve road safety particularly for pedestrians and cyclists and will provide improved facilities for walking and cycling to school.
In addition to these measures, new parking and loading restrictions are proposed. These will require a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO), which will be subject to a separate consultation as part of the legal TRO process.
The scheme is required in relation to planning application 22/01719/MJR for which planning permission was granted on 4 November 2022.
