Walking and cycling

You can pick up a cycling map in several locations across the city, including libraries and community learning centres.

OVO Bikes

OVO Bikes, powered by nextbike, is a bike sharing system which has over 1,000 standard bikes to rent throughout Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.


Bikes can be rented 24 hours, 7 days a week from your nearest official station. There are also e-bikes available to rent. ​


How to rent an OVO Bike

You can register for an account by downloading the nextbike app or visiting the nextbike website.​​​​​​​​​​​External link opens in a new window​​

You can rent an OVO Bike by visiting one of the OVO Bike and e-bike stations in Cardiff.


To unlock an OVO Bike you can either scan the QR code or enter the bike number onto the app.

All OVO Bikes must be returned to an official station. OVO e-bikes must be returned to an electric station.

I​f bikes are not returned to their correct stations, your account will incur a £20 fee.


Cycleways


 

Cardiff Council are developing proposals for five Cycleways​ to support and promote cycling for all ages and abilities. The proposed routes will connect communities to major destinations across the city, including the City Centre and Cardiff Bay.
