The Public Health (Wales) Act 2017 requires each local authority within Wales to publish a local toilets strategy.
Local authorities have a responsibility to:
- assess the need for toilet provision for their communities
- plan to meet those needs
- produce a local toilets strategy
- review the strategy, update and publicise revisions
In 2019, we held a consultation to help shape the local toilets strategy for Cardiff.
Our Local Toilets Strategy was published in December 2019 with the aim of making sure that people who live in or visit the city can access the toilets that meet their individual needs.
We have published an interim progress statement which highlights the actions that we have taken since publishing the strategy.
The next full review of the strategy will be published in May 2023.
