Please note that ice and snow underfoot may mean that street cleansing cannot be completed even if the area is accessible by road.

If your area is scheduled for cleansing today and this has been disrupted, please be assured we will make every effort to cleanse your area as soon as it becomes reasonably practical to do so.

We will keep you updated with any closures and/or disruptions to parks, centres and other facilities.

Due to extreme weather conditions and the demand this has placed on the council we are only able to attend a repair at a council property if we consider it to be a threat to life or limb.

We are asking for your patience in this matter and are advising council tenants not to call the repair line unless it is an emergency.

It is vitally important that residents who do need to contact our operators are able to get through quickly.

For those of you in a non-emergency situation we can recommend the following advice on keeping safe and warm:

  • If you can't heat all your rooms, make sure you keep your living room warm throughout the day and heat your bedroom before going to bed.

  • Wearing the right kind of clothes can help keep you much warmer. Layers are best, t-shirts and under clothes to keep the base of your back warm will heat you from the core.

  • If you have elderly relatives or neighbours who might need help, please check up on them.

We will keep you updated with any closures and/or disruptions to cemeteries and funerals.

For out of hours calls, please call 0300 1234530.

Please note: This number is for emergency highway and emergency winter maintenance calls only.
