Local elections in Wales will take place on Thursday 4 May. Make sure you can take part and register to vote.
Only people who are registered can take part in May’s elections. People living in Cardiff will need to register to make sure that they don’t miss out on voting on polling day.
Registering is easy and you can apply online at www.gov.uk/register-to-voteExternal link opens in a new window in just a few minutes. You will need your address, date of birth and national insurance number.

Why you should vote
By voting, people can have a say on issues that directly affect their day-to-day lives in Wales. It’s important that anyone who is eligible to be on the register, but has not registered, does so.
