2018/19 Budget Proposals2018/19 Budget ProposalsBudget

Following approval by Cardiff Council’s Cabinet, the ‘Changes for Cardiff’ public consultation on the budget proposals for 2018/19 commenced 2nd November. Paper copies must be returned  by 12 noon on Thursday 14 December 2017, the online survey will remain open until midnight on the 15th December 2017.

Despite a more positive than anticipated provisional budget settlement from the Welsh Government, the Council is facing a budget gap of £23m for 2018/19 and £73m for the next 3 years.

In order to close the gap the Budget Consultation Report 2018/19 sets out a number of proposals based on the Budget Strategy approved by Cabinet in July.  These assumptions are subject to change based on the consultation, the final settlement and a full assessment of financial pressures.
