The Consultation for Budget Proposals 2018/19 is now closed
Following approval by Cardiff Council’s Cabinet, the ‘Changes for Cardiff’ public consultation on the budget proposals for 2018/19 ran from 2nd November until 12 noon, Thursday 14th December 2017.
Despite a more positive than anticipated provisional budget settlement from the Welsh Government, at the time of consultation, the Council faced a budget gap of £23m for 2018/19 and £73m for the next 3 years.
In order to close the gap the Budget Consultation Report 2018/19 sets out a number of proposals based on the Budget Strategy approved by Cabinet in JulyExternal link opens in a new window. These assumptions were subject to change based on the consultation, the final settlement and a full assessment of financial pressures. The revised assumptions can be seen in the Council’s Budget Report to Cabinet 15 February 2018External link opens in a new window.
