COVID-19 Support for Business

Ther​e is a range of financial assistance available to businesses who have been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Economic Resilience Fund​

The Welsh Government is making a further package of business support available through the Economic Resilience Fund (ERF). The ERF will provide support in the form of cash grants for businesses, social enterprises and charities and associated supply chain businesses that have experienced and will continue to experience a material negative impact as a result of ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. 

The grants will help meet operating costs (excluding staff wages) for the period 1st of July 2021 to 31st August 2021 directly impacted by the restrictions in place from the beginning of the period.

Kickstart Scheme

You can use the Kickstart Scheme to create new 6-month job placements for young people who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment.

The job placements should support the participants to develop the skills and experience they need to find work after completing the scheme.​​​​​​​​

Funding is available for: 

  • 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week 

  • Associated employer National Insurance contributions 

  • Employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions
