Financial support and advice for Business

The Economic Development team of the City of Cardiff Council can provide existing or new businesses looking to set up in the city with advice on identifying and securing loans, grants and equity from a range of organisations including the City of Cardiff Council’s Capital Cardiff Fund, Welsh government, Finance Wales, European Commission and specialist funding bodies.

The funds are potentially available to support small and medium sized enterprises, large companies and social enterprises. Cardiff also has a designated Enterprise Zone and businesses setting up in this zone can potentially attract a range of financial benefits. Note that all grant schemes are discretionary and negotiable. There is no automatic entitlement and aid.

These funds can potentially be used to support:

  • Relocation into Cardiff
  • Capital investment
  • Job Creation/retention
  • Purchase of Capital equipment
  • Training and personal development
  • Research and development
  • Renovating a property
  • Environmental Works
  • Purchase of a Business
  • Management Buyouts (MBOs) and Management Buyins (MBIs)
